This is a major slap in the face, considering that Ann Arbor is home to the NTDP. Think of the fate of goalies who have been through the program. Bennett goes to BU, and fails there, then gets another chance with Wisconsin. Palmer ends up a third string goalie at Ohio State, and now not even rostered. Maxwell commits to BC, then decommits to play OHL hockey. Yanakeff commits to Michigan State, but gets kicked off the team, yet still goes back for tournament play. Now Campbell, after having played at Yost and with access to as many games as he cares to see, decommits.

Campbell is a good goalie and I'm sure will make the Spitfires a better team, a perennial cup contender in the hotbed of major junior hockey. Quite a shocker though. Seems like it might be time to get some recruiting going.

I've never been more disappointed in a recuit than I am with Jack Campbell.

The last year, all he talked about was playing for Michigan, playing in Yost, winning National Championships.

And now this? Disgusting.

Loyalty doesn't mean a damn thing anymore.

i guess some people do not know the value of a college degree; it does not matter if the degree was obtained by taking bullshit classes. it is a lot of hard work, but the best backup plan.

The Plymouth Whalers are an OHL team...it is an alternative route to playing college hockey for younger players, where they can be paid a small amount and play hockey. It is the same as the WHL and QMJHL. Leagues where many NHLers have come from and many young players who do not want to do deal with school choose to go this alternate route. NHL teams also prefer players to come from teams from these leagues because often times they play more games than the typical 40 game college schedule. Jack Campbell was drafted by the Windsor Spitfires and will mostly likely sign there, either now or after he is done with USA. He will be a 1st or 2nd round pick and will probably go to the Pros a year or two after he is drafted.

The Plymouth Whalers? There's a career-ending move. I didn't know they still existed. He may as well sign with the Detroit Vipers.
