That video from two years ago at Penn State resulted in the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrator (not a PSU student), which was good. However, it's pretty clear that it has less to do with allegiance to Penn State and far more to do with underage, excessive drinking and a total lack of maturity.

Don't forget that the head coach of Ohio State punched an opposing player during a bowl game many years ago. I don't think that is a reflection on every Ohio State fan, either.

I'm totally with you on throwing things at opposing fans (not cool under any circumstances), but you want fans to stop booing at the opposing team? Come on. I fail to see any potential harm in booing; everyone knows they're just 18-22 year old kids trying their hardest, but so what? If the kids take it personally (which I highly doubt *any* of them do) that's their problem. Yeah, maybe its true that those kids "would not be greeted the same way in any other scenario," but that is because sports are different--in ways that make being a sports fan fun--than all those other real-world scenarios. Sports are black-and-white, good guys and bad guys; they are a welcome respite from the shades of gray that make up the real world. Its not OK to boo at 18 year old kids trying their hardest in other scenarios because they're never simply 'the bad guy' in other scenarios. This is one reason many of us love sports. So boo away. Just don't throw your beer can at anyone.

I agree with you that fans need to be respectful. However, until Michigan fans are seen doing, say, something like this:

I'm not really sure we're going to be on the same "level" as you. Your qualm with seats have nothing to do with fans. If you wish to take it up with the AD (not the University's administration), feel free to do so.
