DETROIT — A conference on the future of electric vehicles is taking place this week in Detroit.

"The Business of Plugging In" conference opens Monday and runs through Wednesday. It's bringing together manufacturers, energy companies, government agencies, financiers and researchers.
The aim is to address the challenges involved in bringing electric vehicles to the mass market.
The conference's sponsors include DTE Energy Co., General Motors Co. and the University of Michigan.
